Abu Thecopy the pop‑dominator who’s turning heads across Nigeria and international with his melodic lyrics and charismatic voice.

Born 12 April 2004 in Nigeria, Abubakar Abdullahi (his real name) grew up surrounded by storytelling. He adopted the stage name Abu Thecopy early on, and his high‑school friends affectionately called him “Abu ” – a nickname that stuck throughout his creative circles  ¹.

Early career & breakthrough

• 2020 – present: Launches his career as a singer, songwriter, and film director, quickly gaining traction in pop and classic genres.
• July 2022: Drops his debut single “Love Impossible” on Spotify, marking his official entry into the mainstream music scene  ¹.
• September 2023: Releases “Waikiki breakup,” a track that showcases his knack for blending catchy hooks with heartfelt storytelling 
• You Need I was released 7th January 2026.
